At Target, we believe in our team members having meaningful experiences that help them build and develop skills for a career. The role of a Human Resources Expert can provide you with the:

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Experience using basic Microsoft Office Suite computer and workforce management programs
  • Ability to effectively use scheduling software

As a Human Resources Expert, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:

  • Work with your HR leader to anticipate and address specific talent and staffing needs for each area of the business, understanding guest needs and ensuring the right experience and enthusiasm to deliver excellent shopping experiences.
  • Lead recruiting efforts to help store leaders find and hire candidates with the right skills and experiences.
  • Support team member and leader training needs and promote continuous learning.
  • Be an expert resource for scheduling systems and pay practices.
  • Be approachable and available, listening to team members and collaborating with leaders to take appropriate action.
  • Implement HR processes and programs to maximize engagement and minimize disruptions.
  • Support leaders in following compliance policies to mitigate risks to the team member experience.
  • Create a welcoming environment by greeting guests during daily tasks.
  • Engage with guests to assist with their needs, thank them for shopping at Target, and promote a positive experience.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Work safely at all times, report hazards, and adhere to safety policies.
  • Perform other duties based on business needs.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Quickly resolve guest questions on the spot
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes
  • Focus and composure in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks within timeframes

  • Lifting up to 10 pounds regularly
  • Working in varying temperatures and environments, including Drive-Up and carryout duties
