PURPOSE:


The HR Generalist has a key role in maintaining our employee-oriented company culture. This role consists of “hands-on” management of human resource issues with employees, supervisors and
managers. Primary functions of this position include employee relations, employee engagement initiatives, payroll administration, performance management, recruitment, HRIS reporting and employment law/regulations compliance.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND DELIVERABLES:

  • Lead Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that encourages empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.
  • Coordinates implementation of services, policies, and programs through staff; reports to the HR Manager and assists and advises company managers about Human Resources issues.

Responsible for all or part of these areas:

  • Recruiting and staffing logistics
  • Organizational and space planning
  • Performance management and improvement systems
  • Employment and compliance to regulatory concerns and reporting
  • Employee orientation, development, and training
  • Policy development and documentation
  • Employee relations
  • Company employee communication
  • Compensation and benefits administration
  • Employee safety, welfare, wellness and health
  • Employee services and counseling
  • Assist managers with New Hire and on-going training and compliance
  • Assist manager in Employee Relation tasks, including annual employee reviews, time and attendance verifications, and employee disciplinary/commendation meetings
  • Serves as a backup to the HR Manager in their absence

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Essential Criteria

  • 3-5 Years directly related HR Experience
  • Ability to problem solve and think critically
  • Ability to multitask
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Enjoy working with a HR team as well as be self-directed and able to complete projects independently.
  • Ability to listen well and communicate effectively orally and in writing with various audiences.
  • Ability to use initiative and independent judgment appropriately.
  • Ability to analyze and diagnose problems, develops alternative solutions, and recommend and implement an effective course of action.
  • Detailed-oriented with the ability to see the big picture and possesses strong technical skills to solve complex system challenges.
  • Ability to influence and build relationships with all levels.
  • Understanding of applicable federal, state and local employment laws and regulations

Desirable Criteria

  • Strong and in-depth knowledge of human resources practices, policies, requirements, regulations, processes and techniques.
  • Strong experience in employee relations • Demonstrated experience in providing proactive solutions to human resource issues.
  • Experience working within HRIS systems

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business Related Field

Desirable Criteria

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR
  • SPHR, PHR, SHRM-CP/ SHRM SCP certification.

ADDTIONAL JOB INFORMATION:

Base starting salary at $60k/yr. The Base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
