Sysco is seeking an HR Manager to be based onsite in Westampton, NJ. This HR Manager will oversee day-to-day human resources activities within the assigned territory and distribution center location in Westampton. They will act as a business partner to local and regional management, mentor and develop Human Resources support staff, and manage employee relations issues, recruitment, compensation, benefits, and in-house training as needed.

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of progressive HR experience OR High school diploma and 5+ years of progressive HR experience in a management or senior generalist role
  • Extensive HR Generalist knowledge, including experience in employee relations, recruitment, benefits, and compensation
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees and management at all levels
  • Experience facilitating HR duties in both a union and non-union environment
  • Must be able to travel as needed

Plusses

  • Prior experience with health, retirement and leave administration programs
  • Workday, UltiPro and Brass Ring experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in HR or a related field
  • PHR or SPHR and/or CEBS

Essential duties

  • Provide counsel to employees and all levels of management on employee relations issues ensuring legal compliance with policy and laws
  • Conduct internal investigations in accordance with Company policy and legal requirements
  • Collaborate with managers to successfully execute the annual performance review cycles and assists managers with performance issues/terminations of staff
  • Work with Union representatives to facilitate a good working relationship as needed. Responsible for grievance administration, interpretation and compliance of CBA and participates in collective bargaining negotiations
  • Oversee local unemployment compensation claims, local workers’ compensation claims and OSHA reporting logs to ensure compliance
  • Possess an intimate understanding of the leave of absence process, including but not limited to FMLA, work comp disability
  • Actively engages in communications with other HR team members around best practices and identifies opportunities to create consistency where necessary
  • Partner with HR Management team to develop and implement targeted training and development programs; conducts regulatory training sessions as needed
  • Assist with preparation of employee relations, compensation, and benefits budgets
  • Assist the benefits team and employees as needed during annual open enrollment with an extensive understanding of all benefits provided to employees
  • Conducting job analysis and job descriptions creation
  • Support the Director of HR with the execution of HR strategic initiatives
  • Maintain current knowledge of state and local DOT standards and requirements
