A leading mechanical contractor specializing in high-quality HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems across commercial and industrial markets is seeking an experienced and strategic Human Resources Manager. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR operations, with a focus on compliance, employee relations, benefits administration, and organizational development. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of leading HR initiatives during periods of growth and organizational change, including acquisitions and post-merger integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage day-to-day HR operations across the organization
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Advise leadership on HR strategy, workforce planning, and organizational design
- Support cultural integration and change management during tuck-ins or acquisitions
- Oversee employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance management
- Administer compensation and benefits programs in alignment with market trends
- Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook
- Act as a strategic partner to leadership on matters related to employee engagement and retention
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; PHR/SPHR or SHRM certification preferred
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in the construction or mechanical contracting industry
- Proven experience managing HR during mergers, acquisitions, or organizational change
- Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on, and team-oriented environment
