Role Overview

The dental assistant (surgical assistant) at Nuvia Dental Implant Center assists Surgeons and Restorative Dentists so they can focus on delivering premium, safe, and memorable patient care. Responsibilities include setup, surgery assistance, taking impressions and pouring molds, taking X-rays, placing orders, and working with patients.

  • Preparing and breaking down operation rooms to maintain continuous workflow
  • Placing orders for basic and implant supplies
  • Adjusting and relining prosthesis
  • Assisting the doctor during various surgical implant procedures
  • Delivering pre- and post-operative instructions
  • Sterilization and daily cleaning
  • Managing patient expectations and delivering high-quality patient care

Qualifications

  • Registered Dental Assistant with all proper certifications
  • Self-starter who works well in a team
  • Patient-centric with good communication skills
  • Outgoing and empathetic
  • Flexible and quick learner
  • Great organizational skills and high level of office aptitude

A Day In The Life

Surgery prep and start: Prepare instruments and patients for surgery, review expectations with the surgeon and CRNA, assist with intubation as needed.

Morning huddle: Review the day’s schedule and coordinate with the team on patient needs.

Meet lab deadlines: Work efficiently to ensure prosthetics are ready within 24 hours.

Overcoming obstacles: Use experience to solve equipment issues, patient delays, and concerns to maintain smooth operations and top-tier patient experiences.

End of day: Complete surgery reports and prepare for upcoming cases by reviewing charts, labs, and implants.
