The role includes maintaining the cleanliness of the gym and supporting membership growth. This position involves calling leads generated through marketing activities, cold calling prospects, club tours, and promotions. The gym is cleaned hourly as part of daily operations.
Sales reps are expected to meet challenging monthly quotas and become productive within 30 days of starting. They must quickly identify potential members’ needs and use solution-selling techniques to close the sale. This is a competitive role with the objective of meeting quota and continuous improvement, and teamwork is essential.
Responsibilities
- Achieve Quota: Consistently meet or exceed a quota of 50 new club memberships per month within 60 days. Quotas may vary seasonally (e.g., 50–60 memberships in January–March; 35–30 in other months). (Competencies: competitiveness, work-ethic, motivation)
- Call all Leads Within Two Days and Convert 30% into Appointments: Call back each assigned lead within 48 hours, engage the potential member, and use persuasive techniques to convert 30% of calls into a scheduled tour. (skills: cold calling, verbal communication, adaptability, listening, selling, rapport building, persuasiveness)
- Effectively Plan Each Sales Day: Spend 45 minutes to an hour daily planning the next day’s meetings, calls, and goals; tailor approaches for each scheduled tour based on information gathered from prior conversations. (organizational, planning, diligence, concise summarization)
- Conduct Effective Club Tours: Within two weeks, understand core products and be able to quickly assess a potential member’s needs; present product lines as solutions. Within 30 days, conduct five tours per day and maintain a close ratio greater than 50%. (customer needs analysis, solution selling, communication, adaptability)
- Become Product Expert: Learn all aspects of the club’s programs and services within the first seven days; develop examples of benefits by product offering and present them as solutions to customer needs. (learning, initiative, self-improvement)
- Work with Team to Provide Excellent Customer Service: Build awareness of a total team approach to servicing customers; meet key team members and develop approaches to maximize group effectiveness. (teamwork, cooperation, sensitivity)
- Assist in Implementing Local Marketing: Optional - spend part of time in the field (2–3 hours/day) calling on businesses and supporting promotions. (face-to-face outreach, diligence, integrity, attention to detail, teamwork)
Requirements
- Visit each club in region/market at least once per quarter
- Conduct phone meetings with each club in region/market at least once per week
- Deep understanding of Workout Anytime business systems, including ABC DatatTrak, ABC Club Reporting System, and other systems from Home Office
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent project management skills
