Description

Robert Half is seeking an experienced IT Support & Automation Specialist with a strong foundation in Tier 1 IT support and hands-on proficiency in VB.NET for automation tasks. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting user issues while also improving and maintaining automation processes through code.

Duration: Contract position with potential to extend or hire

Schedule: Monday through Friday (8-5pm; flexible)

Location: 100% onsite in Portland, Oregon

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide Tier 1 IT support and respond to technical issues quickly and effectively.
• Support and maintain automation processes in a production environment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues within the existing automation framework.
• Use VB.NET to develop, enhance, and maintain automation scripts.
• Investigate and respond to failures in automated workflows, which run on monthly, weekly, and yearly schedules.
• Split responsibilities 50/50 between IT support and programming tasks.
  
  

Requirements

• 2-5 years of professional experience in an IT support or technical environment.
• Proficiency in VB.NET, especially in scripting and automation.
• Proven experience providing Tier 1 technical support to end users.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  
  

Nice-to-Haves:

• Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft).
• Experience in production or operations support the environment.
