TEKsystems is hiring: IT Plant Desktop Support in Logan

*Description*

TEKsystems is seeking a Desktop Support Technician for a client in Logan, Utah. This is a first shift (8 am to 5 pm), 100% onsite role with some on-call (remote support) and travel responsibilities. Candidates must have their own vehicle as travel between sites is required. The position is a 6-month contract with potential for extension, and previous incumbents have held similar roles longer. The role involves break/fix support and requires comfort working on ladders and scissor lifts in a manufacturing environment.

The IT Plant Desktop Support role involves providing technical support at plant locations, contributing to global IT projects, and ensuring service level agreements are met for systems including workstations, phones, servers, and network equipment. The person will coordinate and communicate system outages and support plant operations through downtime, working closely with global IT teams and business units to maintain technology performance, availability, and security.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing support and follow-up for hardware, phones, and other IT issues.
• Identifying trends and addressing root causes of support issues.
• Diagnosing, repairing, installing, and upgrading hardware and software per standard procedures.
• Focusing on proactive support and proper escalation.
• Maintaining communication with partners during issue resolution.
• Using Service Management tools to log and update issues.
• Communicating outages and supporting deployment of new processes, hardware, and software.
• Working with contractors and engineers to ensure policy compliance.
• Providing 24x7 support as needed.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay rate is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability, HSA, transportation, employee assistance, PTO, and more, depending on eligibility.
