General Description:

The IT Support Technician is an hourly position reporting to the Information Technology & Systems Manager. The technician is responsible for supporting, installing, and testing computer systems, peripherals, mobile devices, 2FA, and telecommunication devices within a networked environment. This role involves interacting with application software, operating systems, and hardware to diagnose and resolve issues, as well as maintaining the company intranet. Good analytical, technical, and communication skills are essential, as the technician interacts with all organizational levels.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Provide end-user support and help desk services for hardware, software, mobile devices, 2FA, telecommunication devices, and network connectivity.
  2. Install, upgrade, and test computer systems, software, peripherals, mobile devices, 2FA, and telecommunication devices.
  3. Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
  4. Create and maintain user documentation as needed.
  5. Manage hardware inventory, including maintenance and updates.
  6. Maintain and update the company intranet site and content.
  7. Perform additional duties as assigned, with occasional overtime.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  1. Associates Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent technical certification.
  2. Minimum of 2 years supporting desktop users in a networked environment.
  3. Strong technical skills with hardware.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Project, Visio, Adobe Acrobat.
  5. Experience with Microsoft Expression Web or similar web development software.
  6. Physical ability to perform tasks such as kneeling, crawling, bending, reaching overhead, and lifting/moving equipment.

Specific Tasks and Focus Areas:

  1. Support/help desk services, including user orientation, troubleshooting, and training.
  2. Set up and configure desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, and telecommunication equipment.
  3. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, involving vendors when necessary.
  4. Develop and maintain user documentation and guides.
  5. Maintain hardware inventory and update the company intranet with relevant content.
