Overview

We have partnered with a rapidly growing, private-equity backed SaaS business that has scaled to approximately $50 million in revenue and has rapidly doubled in size this year. The business is entering its next phase of growth and is seeking a proven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to play a pivotal role in driving financial strategy, operational excellence, and value creation as it scales toward $100–150 million in revenue.

The Role

The CFO will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO, Board, and private equity sponsor, providing forward-looking financial leadership and ensuring the infrastructure, controls, and insights are in place to support rapid scaling. This role requires a strategic finance leader with a track record of growth in private-equity backed SaaS environments, ideally with strengths beyond a purely technical accounting background.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Finance Leadership: Partner with CEO and PE sponsor to develop and execute growth strategies, long-range planning, and value-creation initiatives.
  • Scaling Infrastructure: Build scalable systems, processes, and reporting frameworks to support the business as it grows from ~$50M to $100M+.
  • FP&A and Insights: Establish best-in-class budgeting, forecasting, and KPIs to drive operational performance and decision-making.
  • M&A Readiness: Support inorganic growth opportunities, including financial due diligence, integration, and post-deal performance tracking.
  • Board & Investor Relations: Serve as the primary financial liaison for the Board and private equity sponsor, providing clear, actionable reporting.
  • Team Development: Assess and strengthen the finance function, ensuring the team is aligned, capable, and scalable with company growth.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven CFO Experience: Successful track record as CFO of a private-equity backed SaaS business, with demonstrated experience scaling revenues from ~50M to 100–150M.
  • Strategic Orientation: Strong FP&A, corporate finance, and strategic planning background; CPA is not required.
  • SaaS Expertise: Deep understanding of SaaS metrics (ARR, CAC, churn, LTV, gross margin) and subscription revenue models.
  • Growth Mindset: Ability to operate at pace in a dynamic, rapidly scaling environment.
  • Stakeholder Management: Skilled at building credibility with CEOs, Boards, and private equity partners.
  • Leadership: Experienced in building, mentoring, and scaling finance teams to match the company’s growth trajectory.
