This position is part of a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 500 - Provost & Enrollment Division. That means the terms and conditions of your employment are governed by university policy (including the Staff Personnel Policies Manual) and any collective bargaining agreement entered into between American University and SEIU Local 500 - Provost & Enrollment Division.

Job Description Summary:

The Coordinator, AU Cornerstone is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day functions of the AU Cornerstone Program, including planning and executing programs, events, and supporting the academic, career development, student engagement, program administration, and communication efforts.

Essential Functions

Academic Integration:

Support academic components, collaborate with faculty, oversee grade and conduct coordination, and assist with program assessment.

Career Development & Advising:

Support students in exploring careers, developing skills, and organizing related programming.

Student Engagement & Community Building:

Provide guidance, develop programming, and support students abroad and on campus.

Program Administration:

Manage daily operations, databases, and logistics of the program and related partnerships.

Communication & Partnerships:

Develop communication strategies, manage marketing, and foster campus relationships.

Other Duties:

Handle special projects, committees, and additional responsibilities as assigned.

Position Details

35-hour work week, with occasional evenings/weekends

Hybrid work modality

Salary: $26.47-$27.54/hour

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent

1-3 years relevant experience

Office environment experience, ability to lift 30lbs, manipulate small objects

Preferred Qualifications

Higher education experience, advising, program planning, communication skills, and knowledge of anti-racist practices
