The Senior Training and Development Coordinator will:
Provide the development, delivery, and monitoring of high-quality training for agencies that provide services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) on the Home and Community Based Waiver Services (HCBS) Waivers; Design and deliver the curriculum both virtually and in person, facilitate meetings, and provide technical assistance to providers across New Mexico; Maintain compliance with training standards, strengthening provider capacity, and promoting consistency and fidelity in training delivery; Support providers statewide ensuring quality of care and outcomes for the people being supported. How does it get done?
The Senior Training and Development Coordinator is responsible for:
Providing training and technical assistance to all provider agencies and people supported by the waivers; Demonstrating advanced collaborative skills to work effectively with these groups, and assist agencies in developing solutions when they face challenges in delivering high-quality services for people with intellectual and development disabilities across New Mexico; Developing and facilitating training based on waiver standards, answering questions related to training processes and procedures, and providing technical assistance; Contributing to the development of training modules and design curriculum for both live-streamed and in-person courses to ensure consistency and accessibility for all providers; Tracking and monitoring training compliance for waiver providers which includes generating and analyzing reports and communicating with providers to improve compliance; Conducting in-home health and wellness visits. The Training & Development Specialist supports:
The provider agencies and professionals who deliver services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities on the Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Waivers; Providers, the position strengthens their capacity to deliver consistent, high-quality services; Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families, ensuring they receive the services and supports necessary to live meaningful, self-directed lives. Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has the following:
Current DDSD core curriculum experience; Experience with of the developmental disabilities support system; Experience and knowledge with training including online training and curriculum development programs; Experience with Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat and on-line meeting and recording systems.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in any field and two (2) years of experience in adult education, instructional design, instructional technology, human resources, employee development, training, and/or producing instructional aid/materials. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course Certificate as a condition of continued employment within 45 days of employment. Travel will be required with overnight stays. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other trainings as required.
Working Conditions
Office setting with extensive use of personal computer, telephone, fax, copier, and other related office equipment that involves sitting, standing, bending, reaching, etc. to include lifting up to 30 pounds.
