Diesel Mechanic
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This role involves performing repairs and maintenance on a wide range of diesel engines including Ford, Kubota, Dodge, Deere, CAT, Bobcat, and other assorted brands. The position also includes occasional work on gas-powered motors in fleet vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read and comprehend technical documents, and the skills to inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair various engine systems. Clear and detailed reporting of diagnostic findings and repair plans is essential to ensure vehicle and equipment availability.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel and gas-powered engines.
- Replace and repair powertrain components, engine systems, belts, brakes, suspension components, and tires.
- Conduct USDOT inspections to ensure roadworthiness and compliance.
- Execute preventative maintenance tasks to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate and detailed service records and repair documentation.
Essential Skills:
- Diesel engine expertise

- Truck and heavy equipment experience
- Welding skills
- ASE certification
- Construction equipment maintenance
- Engine and brake system knowledge
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- 2-year degree or certificate from an automotive/diesel program (preferred)
- 1-2 years of full service shop experience
- ASE certification preferred (required for higher pay scale)
- Ownership of basic mechanic tool set (specialty tools available for use)
- Familiarity with light, medium, and heavy-duty diesel engines
- Class A CDL holders with combination, air brake & manual endorsements (nice to have)
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $41.50/hr.
