Ground Support Equipment Mechanic

Join a legacy of innovation and superior service in the aviation industry. As a Ground Support Equipment Mechanic, you will be an integral part of ensuring that airlines, freight carriers, and airports exceed expectations through superior support and maintenance of ground support equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment failures on aircraft ground support equipment.
  • Perform complex diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or company-owned equipment.
  • Diagnose engine mechanical issues and repair diesel, gas, and LP engines.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic start systems using necessary schematics.
  • Utilize diagnostic software to troubleshoot Powertrain Management Systems.
  • Complete vehicle repair orders and other documentation accurately to maintain quality standards.
  • Communicate safety concerns and customer requests for service to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Essential Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience in automotive or heavy equipment maintenance.
  • Experience with ground support equipment and diesel engines.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair of engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, technical certification/diploma preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and compliance with DOT policies.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an airport-issued ID badge per the airport contract.
  • ASE certification preferred.

Work Environment:

This position operates on the 2nd shift from Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM. Overtime may be available but is not guaranteed. The role is a contract-to-hire position, typically transitioning to direct hire around 18 weeks based on performance and attitude.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reno, Nevada.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
