Pre-Screening Questions: How do you go about troubleshooting a mechanical breakdown? What steps would you take to replace a gearbox? What process would you use to determine the root cause of a machine malfunction? Vision Requirements:

An eye exam will be required contingent upon hire. This role requires 20/30 vision with or without corrective lenses, and/or the successful completion of a color vision exam.

Top 5 Required Skills

Mechanical Troubleshooting/Experience Knowledgeable of feeler gauges and other tools to measure tolerances, torque, and clearances. Familiarity with cams, cam-followers, rod-ends, bushings, chain drives, conveyors, gearboxes, vacuum systems, pneumatic systems, ball valves, and basic troubleshooting of the same. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, push and pull up to 100 pounds. Responsibilities:

Step in to repair machine breakdowns, troubleshoot problems, and address speed of operation and waste issues. Set-up, operate, optimize, changeover/troubleshoot, and maintain assigned departmental production equipment. Meet/exceed production standards, maintain product quality, minimize/prevent equipment downtime, and sustain budgeted waste levels daily. Essential Functions

Operate equipment within specified quality/quantity limits. Set up and debug equipment according to specifications, plant policies, and department procedures. Maintain equipment in working order, adjusting, troubleshooting, cleaning, and repairing as necessary. Maintain equipment logs, recording pertinent information about downtime and maintenance problems. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as specified in the plant PM program. Start up equipment, ensure proper functioning, and monitor/replenish component inventories. Maintain accurate production and downtime records. Observe all safety and environmental procedures and Quality System Requirements (QSR). Perform rework as required and function effectively in a team environment. Additional Responsibilities

Education:

HS Diploma/GED required.
