Warehouse Associate
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for counting, locating, and inspecting food and non-food items while performing general warehouse duties. This includes filling orders, loading and unloading trucks, moving and locating products, assisting with volunteer projects, and maintaining cleanliness in the distribution center by adhering to food safety and company sanitation guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately fill agency orders using warehouse technology to pull products, scan product and rack labels, and load cases on pallets for shipping or pick-up.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels by completing regular inventory counts with a goal of at least 95% accuracy.
- Ensure product security by safely stacking and shrink wrapping products on pallets.
- Safely operate warehouse equipment and follow all company safety rules and procedures.
- Assist other departments within operations based on daily warehouse needs.
- Maintain high levels of sanitation and cleanliness throughout the building, including racks, freezer, and cooler locations.
- Complete daily warehouse sanitation logs and equipment checklists.
- Adhere to and follow all AIB Food Safety practices and procedures.
- Ensure NOVA transfer truck is checked and loaded.
- Provide backup support for NOVA terminal, Agency Mart Lead, and Receiving team as needed.
- Cross-train to support various operations department tasks.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Essential Skills:
- Proficiency in forklift operation and pallet jack handling.
- Experience in inventory control, picking, packing, and general material handling.
- Familiarity with RF scanner and warehouse operations.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle with a valid license.
- At least a high school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a warehouse or operations environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience with handheld scanning devices and warehouse technology.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, donors, and agency representatives.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Flexibility and ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends.

Work Environment:
This role is based in a semi-climate controlled warehouse environment with some outdoor exposure and frequent temperature changes.

This is a Contract position based out of Lorton, Virginia.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $25.09 - $25.09/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
