Mammography Technologist
Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington D.C. is hiring for a Mammography Technologist. Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm Pay Range: $37 - $44 Responsibilities
Under general supervision and in consultation with the Radiologist performs mammographic procedures of a routine and difficult nature. Participates in scheduling procedures for the Breast Imaging Center. Performs Diagnostic Mammography Procedures. Verifies that proper anatomical structures of the breast are demonstrated for radiologic interpretation. Operates stationary and portable radiographic equipment to perform the procedures. Loads cassettes and processes images for final analysis. Explains the procedure to the patient. Assists patient on and off of examination table. Ensures patient's privacy, safety, and comfort. Determines proper technical factors such as voltage, current, exposure time, focal distance which are based on patient size, physical condition and suspected pathology. Qualifications
Requires completion of an AMA approved program in Radiologic Technology or equivalent, which normally is acquired in a two-year college or technical school program. ARRT Mammography certified with current registration. Radiography license by the Maryland Board of Physicians required. CPR BLS certification required. Requires comprehensive understanding and knowledge of the anatomy of the breast and proficiency in performing Radiology examination of the breast as acquired in one to two years of directly related experience.
