Senior Accountant
Assists in the preparation of financial statements and footnote disclosures on Forms 10-K and 10-Q to comply with SEC regulations. Under general direction, responsible for complex accounting activities including analyzing accounting transactions and issues, preparing journal entries, preparing and analyzing financial reports, and enhancing internal controls over financial reporting. This is a senior-skill level normally without supervisory responsibility; however, may provide guidance and direction to other PPL employees in support of high-quality, timely, and cost-effective accounting solutions. Works independently with minimal guidance using knowledge of business operations and accounting.
Staff Accountant :
Assists in the preparation of financial statements and footnote disclosures on Forms 10-K and 10-Q to comply with SEC regulations. Performs other external reporting activities as needed, including completing various surveys, testing, and monitoring internal controls over financial reporting. Works with regular guidance in own area of knowledge.
Responsibilities
Senior Accountant — Prepares and analyzes financial statements and other disclosures including supporting work papers for external financial reports filed with the SEC.
Senior Accountant — Evaluates accounting policies and procedures to reflect changes in business conditions, processes, and accounting.
Senior Accountant — Prepares more complex accounting analyses and journal entries.
Senior Accountant — Performs XBRL tagging for financial reports filed with the SEC.
Senior Accountant — Coordinates requests for information required from various organizations in the company (Business Lines, Treasury, Legal, etc.) in support of financial report disclosures.
Senior Accountant — Enhances internal controls over financial reporting.
Senior Accountant — Uses best practices and knowledge of internal/external business issues to improve products or solve complex problems with a new perspective on existing solutions.
Senior Accountant — Provides functional advice or training to less-experienced accountant positions.
Senior Accountant — Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may direct the work of other staff members.
Senior Accountant — Increases and applies knowledge of legal and regulatory issues and changes in accounting guidance.
Staff Accountant — Prepares and analyzes financial statements and other disclosures including supporting work papers for external financial reports filed with the SEC.
Staff Accountant — Performs XBRL tagging for financial reports filed with the SEC.
Staff Accountant — Coordinates requests for information required from various organizations in the company (Business Lines, Treasury, Legal, etc.) in support of financial report disclosures.
Staff Accountant — Prepares various other financial reports required to be filed with governmental agencies.
Staff Accountant — Solves a range of moderately complex accounting and reporting issues; analyzes possible solutions and assesses each using standard procedures.
Staff Accountant — Builds knowledge of organizational processes, customers, and technical accounting.
Staff Accountant — Assists in tracking and reporting of internal controls over financial reporting, and recommends enhancements to such controls.
Qualifications
Senior Accountant — Bachelor\'s Degree in a business discipline with at least 3 accounting courses and 5 years accounting experience OR Bachelor\'s Degree in Accounting with 3-5 years of accounting-related experience.
Senior Accountant — Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; use of Excel/Word is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Senior Accountant — Bachelor\'s Degree in Accounting, MBA, or other advanced degree in business.
Senior Accountant — CPA or CMA.
Senior Accountant — Experience in utility accounting, public accounting and SEC reporting, and a working knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley.
Senior Accountant — Demonstrated ability to research technical accounting.
Senior Accountant — Requires excellent written and oral communication; requires excellent interpersonal skills.
Staff Accountant — Bachelor\'s Degree in business with at least 3 accounting courses OR Bachelor\'s Degree in Accounting with at least 1 year of accounting-related experience; working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; Excel/Word required.
Staff Accountant — Requires excellent written and oral communication skills.
Staff Accountant — Bachelor\'s Degree in Accounting with 2-4 years of accounting-related experience in public accounting, SEC reporting, and a working knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley; CPA or CMA certification or MBA preferred.
Remote Work
