Transit Architect

to join our team in Washington, DC. In this role, you will work on innovative projects that will shape the future of transportation. Compensation Range: $109,771.86 - $146,362.48 Responsibilities

Work with and coordinate an architectural/engineering team in preparing documents for transportation-focused projects. Perform the initial design phase and detailed phases of architectural design, interfacing and collaborating with various disciplines, clients, and consultants. Prepare architectural plans and/or supervise their execution. Analyze design and construction systems, planning studies, design layouts, and construction details. Oversee research used in writing specifications, including coordination with manufacturers. Conduct site and construction inspections for information gathering and prepare interpretive reports. Execute code analysis, material selections, and technical solutions. Analyze design and construction systems and features, researching, compiling, and recording information for assigned project work. Coordinate with other disciplines; plan, schedule, coordinate, manage, and oversee the work. Qualifications

Professional Degree in Architecture (B. Arch or M. Arch preferred). Minimum of 12 years of experience as a project architect in the rail/transit sector. Transit Architecture design experience including station and related facilities is required. Registered Licensed Architect in the State of DC is preferred. Experience in the transportation sector is required. Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite is required. Experience with OpenBuildings, Rhino, 3-D Max, SketchUp is a plus; LEED Accreditation is a plus. Excellent design, technical detailing, and strong verbal and visual presentation skills. Self-starter with problem-solving skills, teamwork mindset, and client-focused approach. Ability to determine technical approach and design criteria with multiple design disciplines. Lead and coach architectural staff; perform independent investigations, studies, and architectural analysis. Develop design details, plans, and specifications; use computer software as a design tool for solving complex architectural problems. Contribute new designs or techniques and stay current with codes and technologies (IBC, NFPA, etc.). Ensure conformance with standards, established practices, applicable codes, and technical adequacy of design and construction. Review shop drawings and RFIs. Essential Duties Include

Perform independent investigations, studies, and architectural analysis. Develop design details, plans, and specifications. Serve as quality control reviewer. Remain current in codes and technologies pertinent to architecture (IBC, NFPA, etc.). Review shop drawings and RFIs. Benefits
