Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or related field required; CPA or Master’s degree preferred. Has at least 5 years’ experience in a senior level Finance position of similar responsibilities required. Has an excellent financial background. Experience in not-for-profit fund accounting preferred. Experience in LIHTC and/or Deb financing preferred. Previous management experience preferred. Has the ability to evaluate and analyze financial risks and opportunities to arrive at a competent recommendation. Has strong knowledge of financial planning and budgeting Has strong knowledge of insurance and treasury functions Is a strong creative leader with a proven track record. Able to work independently with little supervision and able to handle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines, and have attention to detail. Is able to read, and communicate effectively in the English language; has sight/hearing senses, or uses prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Able and willing to work independently with flexibility and integrity, as well as effectively and harmoniously with team members, residents, family members, volunteers, government agencies/personnel, auditors and the general public. Must be fully up-to-date with required vaccinations. Responsibilities
In partnership with the CFO, plans, organizes, and directs the financial planning and analysis functions. Provides financial analysis, guidance and counsel to ERS’s Servant Leadership Team to facilitate the development of strategic goals and tactical plans that support the mission and general welfare of ERS. Ensures accurate and timely accounting and reporting of ERS financial transactions and related In partnership with the CFO and with the support of the Controllers, oversees the preparation of the annual budget and 3-year forecast. Is the primary accountant for both our ERS and ECH Foundations including all investment transactions and reporting. Is the primary accountant for ERS System miscellaneous strategy entities and select centralized key accounting functions that impact all lines of business in the ERS System. Coordinates with Controllers the monthly close process to ensure timely internal and external reporting with responsibility for final reporting packages to Servant Leadership Team and periodic Board reports. Maintains relationships with Lenders and assists the CFO in the financing of debt and tax credit deals and ongoing quarterly and annual reporting requirements. Manages the Accounts Payable team, processes and key accounting software. Manages the corporate credit card program and is the software administrator. Administers the organization’s report writing software by managing user access, developing and maintaining reports, and ensuring accuracy, consistency and compliance across all reporting needs. Acts as the primary liaison with external accountants to coordinate audit, tax and cost reporting services – coordinates closely with Controllers and external parties to ensure key reporting deadlines are met. Maintains relationship with banking partners and is the primary administrator for banking platforms with ACH/wire approvals. Handles the treasury management functions including daily cash monitoring to ensure sufficient liquidity for our primary operating entities, maintaining bank accounts, system cash transfers, quarterly strategic cash analysis, etc. Maintains relationships with our insurance brokers and providers including insurance related requests and annual renewals. Leads process improvement and other special projects as requested. Provides a financial consulting resource for the ERS management staff. Adheres to all of ERS’s policies and procedures including our safety and Corporate Compliance programs.
