Solution Architect-WWPS-Army, US Army at AWS. This role involves helping the U.S. Army implement innovative cloud computing solutions, understanding application architectures and integration approaches, and guiding projects to successful outcomes. Responsibilities

Own the technical engagement and success around specific implementation projects. Define implementation architectures and respond to RFPs. Develop deep expertise in AWS technologies and broad know-how on how applications and services are constructed on the AWS platform. Serve as a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services. Provide thoughtful technical design and sensitivity to customer needs in the Defense markets. Lead efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge among the AWS solution architect community. Collaborate with sales, business development, customers, and ecosystem partners to drive cloud adoption in the U.S. Department of Defense. Help shape and deliver a strategy to build broad use of AWS services with customers and SI/solution provider partners. Educate and mentor other engineers and stakeholders on cloud architecture and best practices. Basic Qualifications

8+ years of experience in technology domains (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics). 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications and infrastructures. 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in software or Internet industries. Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience. Experience working with end user or developer communities. Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executives. Experience architecting infrastructure solutions using Linux/Unix and Windows with server, load balancing, high availability, disaster recovery, and storage architectures. Executive speaking and presentation skills; ability to present to small and large groups. Technical – Web services development/deployment and cloud computing. Operational – Web site/services operations, management, and security. Economic and business – RFP/acquisition support; technical architecture; understanding market trends; cost-benefit analysis. Advisory/Consulting experience with Defense Department customers. Other information

This position requires that the candidate be a US Citizen and must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. A day in the life: The team works with Army customers at various locations throughout the US and overseas, listening to requirements, analyzing and determining potential solutions, and helping Army customers achieve their cloud goals. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,200/year to $239,000/year, depending on market and experience.
