Victory Programs, a Boston-based nonprofit, has supported individuals and families in crisis for 50 years. Our team of over 380 staff across nearly 30 programs works to provide shelter, sustenance, recovery, care, and professional, compassionate support. We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Employee Relations Manager to foster positive workplace environments, resolve complex employee issues, and promote organizational health through fair, consistent, and legally sound HR practices. Essential Functions

Conduct comprehensive reviews and investigations into employee concerns, complaints, and policy violations, ensuring processes are fair, confidential, and aligned with the employee handbook, internal policies, and applicable employment laws. Manage employee relations matters with integrity, ensuring unbiased investigations, equitable conflict resolution, and consistent policy application to foster a discrimination- and favoritism-free workplace. Provide solutions that promote a positive workplace environment aligned with the organization’s mission and values. Collaborate with the Chief Human Resources Officer and HR team to advise on trends, risks, and best practices related to employee relations. Coach and guide managers and supervisors to support effective leadership, communication, and performance management. Lead employee engagement initiatives that promote transparency, feedback, and open communication. Develop onboarding and mentorship programs to help new staff feel connected and successful from day one. Coordinate and deliver training related to workplace behavior, compliance, communication, and leadership development. Use data and employee feedback to identify trends and propose strategies to improve morale, retention, and team performance. Participate in internal committees and cross-functional collaborations to enhance workplace culture initiatives. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions. Advise administrative personnel and supervisors on proper application of federal and state laws, rules, and policies related to employee situations. Administer and maintain employee evaluations by integrating developmental goals and core values to enhance accountability and growth across programs. Develop and deliver presentations and training on HR policies, employee relations practices, and organizational development to support staff growth and compliance. Stay informed on organizational policies, HR best practices, and regulatory updates through meetings and professional development opportunities. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications

Strategic thinker with the ability to develop long-term HR goals and strategy. Proven track record of success in the nonprofit sector. Ability to work on-site with flexibility for occasional travel to various program locations; some driving may be required for site visits. Dedication to change management, continuous improvement, and high-level performance. Ability to use data and statistics to resolve HR problems. Strong communication skills and ability to convey sensitive information clearly and professionally. Excellent interpersonal skills with attention to detail and the ability to build trust at all levels. Experience using HRIS platforms (e.g., ADP, Paylocity or similar) to manage employee data, track performance, and support onboarding, benefits administration, and compliance. Task-oriented and diligent in overseeing and managing tasks. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Education And Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or related field. Master’s degree in Human Resources Management, Labor Relations, or related discipline is preferred. Minimum 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years focused on employee relations, conflict resolution, or labor relations. Extensive experience in the nonprofit sector. HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) is highly desirable. Compensation And Benefits

Salary range is $82,000 and commensurate with experience. Victory Programs provides a diverse, inclusive work environment and a benefits package, including health and dental coverage, disability and life insurance, and generous paid time off. Details may vary based on full-time status and tenure.
