Overview
Fractional Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
The Company is seeking a long-term, strategic CFO to serve as an integral member of the management team. In addition to overseeing accounting and finance functions, the CFO will monitor the performance of the owners’ diverse investment portfolio, which includes private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, equities, and bonds.
Responsibilities
Prepare and review consolidated cash flow reports and financial statements for all entities.
Manage cash balances, transferring excess funds to investment advisors monthly.
Oversee intercompany and estate planning loan interest payments.
Monitor family investments across multiple asset classes, liaise with advisors to ensure accurate reporting (Addepar, investment advisors).
Evaluate potential new investments (debt funds, PE, hedge funds, equities, bonds).
Maintain real estate schedules and prepare corporate expense analyses to reduce overhead.
Handle bank reconciliations, payroll review/approval, and HR coordination (via outside administrator).
Support real estate acquisitions and loan closings with required financial documentation.
Prepare personal and trust financial statements for partners as needed.
Provide tax information to external accountants for various entities and trusts.
Assist in oversight of IT consultants, insurance placement, and HR matters.
Requirements
10+ years of experience in a mid-size real estate company.
Bachelor’s degree required; CPA strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of accounting, tax principles, and entity structures (LLC, S-Corp, Partnerships; trusts and foundations a plus).
Expertise in budgeting, fiscal management, and reporting for both for-profit and nonprofit entities.
Proficiency with Yardi Voyager and related accounting software.
