SkyWater is partnering with a dynamic, high-growth organization headquartered in the Twin Cities to identify a forward-thinking Senior Manager to lead their financial reporting and accounting policy function. This highly visible role reports directly to senior finance leadership and serves as a strategic partner in shaping the company’s financial direction. The Senior Manager will drive external reporting and oversee accounting policy, strengthen internal controls, guide technical accounting matters, and coordinate annual audits. With exposure to strategy and M&A activity, this leader will influence decisions that support the company’s continued expansion.
Responsibilities
Manage the quarterly review and annual audit process with external auditors, including preparing materials for audit committee presentations.
Lead the adoption and implementation of new accounting standards, including technical interpretation and documentation.
Provide accounting support for M&A activity, including purchase accounting, fair value assessments, and integration efforts.
Partner with investor relations to prepare materials for investor presentations, earnings calls, and Q&A documents.
Establish and maintain a strong internal control environment, ensuring compliance with SOX requirements.
Conduct technical accounting research to support complex transactions, draft accounting position papers and memos, and oversee the annual goodwill impairment process.
Oversee the preparation and filing of annual and quarterly external financial reports (10-K/10-Q equivalents), including financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A, ensuring compliance with GAAP and disclosure regulations.
Ensure timely and accurate execution of internal controls across the accounting function.
Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing financial reporting and accounting policy team, setting goals and fostering continuous development.
Collaborate with leadership, external advisors, auditors, tax professionals, and internal legal and finance teams.
Desired Skills And Experience
7+ years of progressive accounting experience with a mix of SEC reporting and technical accounting.
4+ years in public accounting with CPA designation (Big 4 preferred).
Strong knowledge of SOX requirements and internal control design.
Deep technical expertise in U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting regulations.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
