As the Director of Quality Assurance, you will lead the Aerospace and Defense Solutions (ADS) divisions quality function across nine manufacturing sites, ensuring consistent execution of quality strategies, systems, and standards. This role is responsible for the Business Management System (BMS) and maintaining compliance with AS9100 and other relevant quality standards. You will provide strategic leadership, drive continuous improvement, and champion a culture of quality excellence across all sites. What You Will Do
Lead and manage the quality function across nine geographically distributed facilities, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and customer expectations. Own and continuously improve the Business Management System (BMS) to ensure compliance with AS9100, and other applicable regulatory and customer requirements. Develop and deploy quality strategies, policies, and metrics that drive performance, accountability, and continuous improvement. Oversee internal and external audits, corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), and management reviews. Collaborate with site leaders and functional teams to ensure consistent application of quality standards and practices. Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality concerns, audits, and regulatory inspections. Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives to address systemic quality issues. Monitor and report on key quality performance indicators (KPIs), including defect rates, audit findings, and customer satisfaction metrics. Mentor and develop quality leaders and professionals across all sites, fostering a culture of ownership, transparency, and excellence. Support new product introduction (NPI) and design transfer processes to ensure quality is built into every stage of the product lifecycle. Partner with Supply Chain and Engineering to qualify suppliers, manage risk, and ensure incoming material quality. Represent the company in industry forums and regulatory engagements as needed. Travel to facilities and customer sites (approximately 25%) to support audits, reviews, and strategic initiatives. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field. 10+ years of progressive experience in quality assurance, with at least 5 years in a multi-site leadership role. Deep knowledge of AS9100, and quality systems in regulated manufacturing environments. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive systemic improvements. Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills. U.S. citizenship required (due to contractual or export control obligations). What Will Put You Ahead
Masters degree in Quality, Engineering Management, or Business Administration. Certified Lead Auditor (AS9100 or ISO9001). Experience in aerospace, defense, or medical device manufacturing. Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma, APQP, PPAP, and risk management tools (e.g., FMEA, 8D). Working knowledge of ERP and QMS platforms. Hiring Philosophy
