Business Systems Analyst
with a strong background in
finance and accounting systems , specifically around
money movement
processes such as
payment processing ,
payroll , and
capital (loan) processing . The ideal candidate will play a critical role in
translating accounting requirements into reporting and system automation, helping to streamline financial operations and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (SOX, ITGC). Key Responsibilities
Money Movement Systems Support:
Support and improve processes for
payment collection ,
payroll processing , and
capital/loan disbursement . Ensure systems are designed to securely and efficiently move money between entities.
Accounting Automation:
Work on automating manual journal entries across the payments business, with an initial target of automating 5 out of 40 recurring journal entries. Apply strong accounting knowledge to review and validate logic, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance. Collaborate with technical teams to define and deliver system integrations for accounting automation.
Reporting & Systems Integration:
Translate
accounting requirements
into
reporting requirements
for technical implementation. Build and validate reports that feed into the data warehouse and Oracle Financials (FAH) for auto-posting journal entries. Ensure systems and processes are compliant with
SOX
and
ITGC controls .
Project Phases:
Phase 1:
Develop proof of concept for automated journal entry integration with Oracle FAH. Phase 2:
Enable automated month-end close, including account mapping and automated flux analysis. Goal to reduce month-end close from
2.5 days to 1 day
through process improvement and automation.
Collaboration & Testing:
Work with cross-functional teams (finance, engineering, data) to ensure requirements are clear and test cases/use cases are complete. Participate in the full lifecycle of systems development including requirement gathering, testing, and deployment.
Qualifications
Strong
accounting background
with the ability to challenge assumptions and validate accounting logic. Experience with
journal entry automation , accounting system improvements, and
financial reporting systems . Familiarity with
Oracle FAH (Financial Accounting Hub)
or similar ERP platforms ( Oracle integration is a plus ). Experience working in a
SOX-compliant
environment with understanding of ITGC controls. Proven background in
business systems analysis , including lifecycle management, test case development, and stakeholder communication. Ability to map account sets across different systems for consistent financial reporting.
