Full Time - Sr. Insurance and Risk Manager
BayMark Health Services is seeking an individual to handle the administration of all commercial insurance policies, serve as the point of contact for insurance matters, and develop/manage risk and safety programs.
Responsibilities
Manage workers’ compensation, general and professional liability programs, and all other commercial insurance policies.
Obtain information from internal departments to provide insurance brokers and carriers with necessary details for program administration, renewals, claims, and development activities.
Advise employees on insurance questions and act as the primary contact with insurance brokers.
Review lease agreements to ensure insurance compliance.
Process claim reporting and coordinate payments for insurance claims.
Support investigations related to claims and provide litigation support.
Coordinate the preparation of insurance renewals.
Manage the Commercial Driver’s License Program and motor vehicle policies in coordination with HR.
Conduct risk assessments, analyze documentation, statistics, reports, and market trends to identify insurable risks and hazards.
Advise the executive team on loss trends, claim frequency and severity, and potential risks and liabilities.
Establish policies and procedures to identify and mitigate risks within the company.
Implement risk management solutions, including insurance, safety policies, business continuity plans, or recovery measures.
Schedule and coordinate safety training sessions.
Conduct quarterly insurance, risk, and safety meetings with the executive team.
Present divisional priorities, goals, and objectives related to risk and insurance to the executive team.
Assist the executive team with projects and related tasks as needed.
Maintain correspondence, files, records, and communication materials.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, legal, insurance analytics, commerce, risk management, or related field.
Experience training teams on risks, strategic plans, and coverage requirements.
Minimum of five years experience in a multi-site healthcare organization’s insurance and risk management program.
Proficiency with Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS) or similar systems.
Strong understanding of commercial insurance policies and experience working with brokers, carriers, and adjusters.
Knowledge of legal reporting, legislative rulings, and case law related to claims and insurance.
Proficiency in MS Office suite and online research tools.
Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive materials.
Supervisory and management skills.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Excellent interpersonal, diplomatic, and political skills.
Strong analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Satisfactory references, criminal background check, and drug screening.
