Business Development Manager Trade Skills & Staffing
Were looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) who thrives on winning new business and building lasting client relationships in the skilled trades and industrial staffing sector. Youll focus on developing new accounts and expanding relationships within shipyards, construction, manufacturing, energy, and logistics companies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in staffing sales (preferably in skilled trades or light industrial), a competitive mindset, and the ability to convert opportunities into long-term partnerships. Responsibilities Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities in trade skills and staffing sectors. Develop a robust pipeline of prospects through research, networking, cold outreach, and referrals. Deliver sales presentations, proposals, and staffing solutions tailored to client needs. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to secure profitable agreements. Serve as the primary point of contact for key accountsensuring client satisfaction, repeat business, and account growth. Partner with recruiters and delivery teams to ensure smooth fulfillment of staffing needs. Anticipate client workforce requirements and proactively propose staffing solutions. Stay ahead of industry trends, labor market dynamics, and competitive intelligence in skilled trades staffing. Represent Core Group Resources at trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities. Consistently meet or exceed sales targets, KPIs, and revenue goals. Maintain accurate records of client interactions, opportunities, and pipeline activity in CRM.
Qualifications
3+ years of business development or sales experience in staffing, workforce solutions, or related industries. Demonstrated success in generating new business and growing existing accounts. Strong understanding of skilled trades and industrial labor markets. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
Background in skilled trades, maritime, shipyards, construction, or manufacturing staffing. Experience with both direct hire and contract labor models. Existing network of contacts in relevant industries.
