It is not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified*.*This is a 1-year fixed term position.***JOB SUMMARY**KRI aims to drive rapid development, prototyping, and transition of tech innovation to the industry and defense agencies to maintain technological superiority over other nations in a secure development space. Staff, faculty and students work closely with experts from industry, government, and academia, translating discoveries into revolutionary new technologies, materials, and systems.Reporting to the Facilities Security Officer, the Security Administrator I acquires the knowledge and skills to support all domains of industrial security: Information System Security Officer (ISSO), alternate Contract Program Security Officer (aCPSO) and Industrial Security Generalist. The Security Administrator I will also assist with expanding our Co-Op program as well as supporting and engaging with Northeastern University Faculty for services.**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**Understanding of facility security systems and access controls, IT security principles and technologies, and federal security regulations. Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and proficiency writing supporting documentation**.** Skills required include analytical, perseverance, problem solving, resourcefulness, and verbal/written/presentation communications. Knowledge and skills required for this position are typically acquired through a bachelors degree (often in security management, criminal justice, or related field) and experience writing and implementing Construction Security Plans (CSPs), managing the day-to-day operations of a possessing facility, and writing supporting documentation. Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances. Applicants are required to have completed the CDSE (Center for Development of Security Excellence ) Facility Security Officer for Possessing Facilities training.**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES****Information System Security Officer (ISSO)*** Support classified computing environments with responsibility for implementing and enforcing the cybersecurity compliance directives with hands-on execution and oversight.* Create, sustain, and enforce standard operating procedures developed from government compliance documents/regulations (NISPOM, DFARS, DAAPM, JSIG, etc.), while still being able to interpret and troubleshoot requests and tasks of volatile complexity.* Utilizes a wide variety of cybersecurity technologies and tools and requires knowledge and experience with a comprehensive selection of Information Technology skill sets. ISSOs will be required to maintain COMPTIA Security+ or equivalent IT certification.**Alternate Contract Program Security Officer (aCPSO)*** Assist the CPSO in performing program security tasks and duties with internal and external customers.* Maintain personnel security records for SAP/SAR/SCI related programs to include the use of SIMS, JPAS, and Scattered Castles.* Perform initial access eligibility determinations and create PARs and SCI nominations.* Process incoming and outgoing classified visit certifications.* Conduct internal self-inspections and assist with Staff Assistance Visits and Customer Security Assessments.* Maintain classified material accountability records to include inventory lists, receipt and transmittal records and final disposition documentation.* Ensure all classified materials are marked and controlled in accordance with contractual requirements.* Review operational requirements and system specification documents to ensure applicable security requirements are addressed and incorporated into security processes.* Interpret and implement security classification guidance.* Support the development of Program Protection Plans (PPPs and program's Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).* Attend, support and participate in program meetings, staff meetings, and telecons.**Industrial Security Generalist Track:*** Support the Collateral DoD Industrial Security Program by helping develop Initial and Refresher training, Insider Threat reporting requirements, Self-Inspections across all cleared KRI locations, submit visit requests and foreign travel in DISS and take fingerprints for initial and upgraded personnel clearances.* Responsible for Kostas Building access control and managing the Kostas visitor list.**Position Type**Safety and Security**Additional Information**Northeastern University considers factors such as candidate work experience, education and skills when extending an offer.Northeastern has a comprehensive benefits package for benefit eligible employees.
