We are growing rapidly and looking for high performers at every level to grow with us.POSITION SUMMARY:The Operations Supervisor for the ice arena is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring the facility runs smoothly, and providing a safe and enjoyable environment for all patrons. This role involves managing team members, coordinating events, maintaining equipment, and addressing any issues that arise. This position is based outdoors at the iconic Winter Village at Bryant Park Ice Rink.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:Provide courteous and friendly service to all guests and team membersSupervise and coordinate daily operations of the ice arena, including scheduling, and facility managementAssist in managing inventory of ice arena supplies, including ice maintenance materials, concession items, and equipmentBe responsive to guest concerns and direct to appropriate manager to resolve Enforce facility policies and proceduresHave general knowledge regarding program options and facility eventsAssist other departments as necessary Respond to all incidents, accidents, injuries, and altercations as neededComplete and file corresponding paperwork as necessary Assist with daily maintenance and upkeep of department equipmentAssigning duties to staff during shiftsInspect equipment and communicate the need for repairs or replacements to managementEnsure health and safety standards are followedResponsible for opening and closing of facilitiesCommunicate to management on event set and breakdownComplete special projects, daily assignments, and other duties as directed by managementMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Must be willing to test for Fire Guard CertificationMust be at least 18 years of ageAbility to work with a wide variety of ages from preschool through adultKnowledge of ice maintenance and rink operations is highly desirableProven experience in facility management, preferably in an ice arena or similar environmentMust be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays - No exceptionsExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to maintain focus in a high-volume, fast-paced environmentMust have excellent guest service skillsMust be detail-oriented and have outstanding organizational skillsAbility to multi-task and prioritizeAbility to remain calm and focused in difficult and stressful situationsMust be respectful and friendly to our athletes, guests, visitors, spectators, leaders, and fellow team membersMust work well with othersCommitment to the safety and wellbeing of othersMust possess a valid driver's licenseWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist highMust be able to work in cold and inclement weather for prolonged periods of timeMust be able to work independently in a busy environmentMust comply with safety and health code standardsWill be required to stand for extended periods of timeMay involve exposure to ice resurfacing equipment and other machineryFacility has intermittent noise
