Senior Cloud Solution Architect

to join our Federal organization. The Microsoft Federal organization addresses the unique mission, legal/regulatory requirements, and procurement rules and processes of the United States Government (USG). Microsoft Federal is committed to ensuring its resources including appropriately qualified, experienced, and certified personnel (with necessary security clearances or otherwise) are available as needed to meet USG evolving needs. Microsoft Federal personnel may serve in various roles to meet evolving USG needs, regardless of segment Civilian, Defense, or intelligence community. Responsibilities

Operates according to required operational excellence and proven practice standards throughout all sales stages/activities/tools of record (e.g., pipeline updates, time tracking). Collaborates across Microsoft and customer/partner teams through on-strategy delivery to achieve customer/partner objectives and increase satisfaction. Proactively manages business and technical risks, adapts methodology and applies governance principles to identify, communicate, and minimize risks. Executes work in compliance with industry and Microsoft guidelines and procedures. Continuously prioritizes among competing demands, aligns with business priorities and goals. Delivers solutions in line with company methodologies (e.g., value-based deliverables, advice, training, technical validation) and prepares customers for operational readiness and achievement of business goals. Leverages change management practices to help customers deploy for long-term organizational adoption and increase satisfaction and usage. Guides customers/partners toward a well-architected, secure, resilient, AI-enabled, and cost/performance-optimized solution to drive retention and expansion opportunities. Provides feedback to unified delivery teams on VBDs to refine content. Identifies new opportunities for Consumption, Usage & Unified expansion at scale based on business value and Microsoft value proposition. Engages with customers/partners to understand requirements, maps architectures to business outcomes, and collaborates across the organization to execute opportunities. Identifies and mitigates blockers to accelerate solution deployment and value realization. Applies business, technical, industry, and enterprise knowledge to architecture or project delivery to meet IT requirements. Customer Centricity

Acts as the voice of the customer/partner, shares feedback with engineering and product teams, and translates insights into strategic actions. Builds relationships with technical and business decision makers and bridges understanding of security, compliance, and risk requirements. Defines conditions of success with customers/partners and drives customer experience improvements and value realization. Partner Specialization

Prioritizes opportunities aligned with revenue goals and collaborates with partners to clarify opportunities through proof of concept and pre-sales support. Guides partners in developing repeatable offerings and solutions and advises them during initial implementations. Technical Leadership

Models technical readiness and leads upskilling within the team; mentors on technical and non-technical concepts. Identifies gaps in delivery and advocates for changes to products, IP, technologies, and processes to scale solutions. Contributes to Microsoft's frameworks and methodologies and provides thought leadership to customers/partners and internal communities. Leads virtual teams around technologies and engages with external audiences to elevate Microsofts brand. Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 4+ years of experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, IT consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting. OR equivalent experience. 4+ years of success in consultative/complex technical sales and deployment projects, architecture, design, implementation, and/or support of cloud-based applications. Security Clearance Requirements

Active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance is required. Must meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements. Clearance verification will be requested prior to offer. Microsoft Cloud Background Check is required on hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Citizenship verification is required due to citizenship-based restrictions for government customers. Education

Educational requirements include, but are not limited to: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 8+ years of related experience; OR Masters Degree with 6+ years of related experience; OR equivalent experience. Technical Certification in Cloud (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google) and professional cloud certification in one or more relevant technologies is preferred. Experience

4+ years in a customer-facing role. 4+ years on technical projects; prior consulting/architecture experience in a software/solutions company is desirable. Knowledge of Azure cloud services and general knowledge of competitive cloud offerings. Understanding of partner ecosystems and ability to leverage partner solutions. Compensation and Benefits

The typical base pay range is USD 106,400 - 203,600 per year, with location-based variations (San Francisco Bay Area / NYC: USD 137,600 - 222,600).
