Sr Technology Project Manager - Fuel Technology

We are seeking a Senior Technology Project Manager to support the Fuel Technology Team. This role leads the team through application upgrades and partners with internal Technology Teams, business partners (finance and supply chain), and our application Vendor. The Senior Technology Project Manager will guide enterprise modernization efforts and oversee decommissioning of the Fuel Hedging application. The role requires a detail-oriented thinker and strong communicator to drive the future of Southwests Technology. This DFW-based role is offered as a remote workplace position, which may require travel for trainings, meetings, conferences, etc. Outside of those required visits, the majority of your working time may be spent in an approved remote location within the DFW area. Responsibilities Partner with Technology Managers and Directors to lead large technology projects/programs in support of department or enterprise strategic plans Serve as a project leadership resource responsible for driving analysis, recommendations, decisions and delivery Define complex project plans/roadmaps for multiple simultaneous projects or a single highly complex project or program, including scope, budget and schedule, and execute tasks to achieve project goals using standard project management methodologies Work with development and application teams to break down work into smaller components or features and identify the critical path Drive testing and acceptance of project or program results across multiple teams Mentor and coach other Project Managers Monitor risks, issues, and scope proactively, ensuring appropriate priority, visibility and escalation Communicate plans and relevant components (risk, schedules, expectations, ongoing updates) to Stakeholders, Sponsors and Project Teams to maintain alignment Build partnerships to collaborate and influence for gathering customer and business requirements and communicate with all project teams and support groups Work with partner teams across portfolios to plan dependencies, track execution, and visualize the full scope of work including business capabilities and architectural runway May perform other job duties as directed by Leaders Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Expert knowledge of project processes, problem management tools and procedures Advanced knowledge of Agile development practices and ceremonies Advanced knowledge of application impact on operational and business functions Strong financial acumen to interpret corporate financial analysis and statements Strong customer service and team orientation Ability to assume responsibility and provide direction in a team-oriented environment Effective verbal and written communication at all levels Ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential information Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-based environment and remain composed under pressure Leadership to direct performance of outside contractors and maintain positive relations with internal customers Education Required: High School Diploma or GED Experience Required: Expert-level experience in project management and strong technology project delivery experience Required: Experience developing technology delivery plans with identified risks and mitigation plans Required: Strong communication skills, both verbally and written, at all levels Preferred: Prior experience in a SAFe and Agile environment; understanding of SAFe methodology Preferred: Experience with Supply Chain principles and knowledge of Fuel logistics Licensing/Certification N/A Physical Abilities Ability to work at a desk/limited space for extended periods Ability to communicate in English to meet job demands Ability to use a computer and productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy Other Qualifications Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per company guidelines Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States Must be at least 18 years of age Must comply with company attendance standards Pay & Benefits Competitive market salary from $128,350 to $142,600 per year depending on qualifications and experience Bonus opportunities may be available at the discretion of the company Health insurance options for you and eligible dependents 401(k) retirement savings with company contributions up to 9.3% of eligible earnings Potential for annual Profit Sharing when Southwest profits EEO Statement Southwest Airlines is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
