CLASSIFIED: Position is subject to the provisions of the Merit System Rules pursuant to Arizona Law.

ANTICIPATED RATE OF PAY: $18.75 to $23.44 hourly dependent upon qualifications,

plus a

comprehensive benefits package

to include membership in the Arizona State Retirement System

Under general supervision of the Clerk of the Board, performs administrative work for the Board of Supervisors of moderate difficulty in routine or special project work; performs related duties as assigned.

Provides advanced calendar management for the Board of Supervisors, County Administration, and the Clerk of the Board including scheduling meetings, coordinating with multiple departments, tracking deadlines, and resolving scheduling conflicts. Serves as point of contact for external and internal stakeholders; greets callers and visitors and responds to inquiries. Assists in preparing routine correspondence, reports, meeting minutes and items of confidential or sensitive nature. Processes Board member reimbursements to include but not limited to travel vouchers, accounts payable, and credit card payments. Receives and routes various constituent inquiries filed with the office. Assists with the implementation of special projects for Board members; coordinates activities through the Clerk of the Board. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications An Associate's Degree in business administration, political science, public relations, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the US Department of Education and five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative experience. Notary Certification or ability to obtain within six (6) months. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved may be considered. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

:

Preference may be given to individuals with experience in government and/or are bilingual in English and Spanish in speaking, writing and reading.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Considerable knowledge of: principles and practices of customer service and office administration; business English, and report writing; software applications within the Microsoft Office Suite; organizing and managing complex operations with attention to detail and accuracy. Working knowledge of:

Adobe Acrobat Pro software; guidelines, regulations, and statutes affecting the department or ability to obtain; word processors, microcomputer systems, and other office machines. Ability to:

effectively respond to public inquiries; represent the department and County in a professional manner; work well in a fast-paced environment; establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, elected officials, representatives of other agencies and the public; follow written and verbal instruction; communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; use independent judgment and personal initiative; read, write and speak English.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

:

Work is primarily performed under general supervision. Incumbent generally performs work in a typical office setting with appropriate climate controls. This position may require occasional travel within Cochise County and the State of Arizona to attend meetings, trainings, and related events. PHYSICAL

REQUIREMENTS

:

Essential functions of this position require: lifting, manual dexterity, fine motor skills, ability to communicate.

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; involves sitting majority of time; walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met
