AECOM . District 6 covers Cartersville, Dalton, Buchanan, and Rome, serving 17 counties within the Northwest Georgia region. Georgia DOTs CHAMP program provides complimentary roadside assistance and maintenance for motorists traveling through the region. Starting pay

is $18/hr. This position is contingent on successfully completing functional tests for each essential function identified for this position. Responsibilities

Patrol and monitor a segment of interstate roadway in an assigned region, looking for stranded motorists, roadway deficiencies, site distance problems and obstructions that may cause lane blockage. Professionally and courteously assist the public with stranded motorists (e.g., dead batteries, running out of gas, flat tires). Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and Municipal laws, rules and ordinances. Monitor, report and document roadway deficiencies to Dispatch or District offices. Work under direct supervision performing routine and repetitive duties; on-the-job training provided in a technical area. Consistently ensure quality customer service through professionalism, timely response, skill and courtesy. Abide by all Federal, State, and Municipal laws, rules and ordinances and maintain a clean driving record. Provide automotive gas/diesel fuel to stranded motorists when needed; give battery boosts; provide minor first aid until advanced medical personnel arrive. Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS : High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 1 year of relevant work experience in lieu of education. Be a minimum of 18 years of age. Ability to drive, using an AECOM provided vehicle, patrolling and monitoring a segment of interstate roadway in an assigned region. Possess a valid Drivers License and a clean driving record (no license suspension in the last 5 years). Must pass State and Federal criminal history/security and motor vehicle background checks. Must pass pre-employment drug screen and participate in mandatory random drug screening. Possess or be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certifications. Working knowledge of basic automotive repair. Willingness to be on call 24/7 and respond to after-hours call outs. Position will require wearing appropriate personal protective equipment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : Five (5) years of driving experience. Experience in roadway traffic environments and good customer service. Basic knowledge of emergency services operations and highway maintenance activities. Basic knowledge of minor auto repairs and automotive preventive maintenance. Ability to work independently with little supervision and manage own time. Demonstrated ability to reason and make sound decisions based on defined criteria; ability to guide others at incident scenes. Gathers and disseminates information effectively; working knowledge of MUTCD. Demonstrates positive customer service attitude and professional maturity; can manage tasks professionally and on time. Work Environment / Physical Requirements

Essential functions : physically able to work outdoors in varying conditions, operate vehicles, and work around heavy, moving equipment. Frequent standing/walking; standard PPE is required. Ability to lift up to 95 pounds. Ability to push/drag and generate at least 66 ft./lbs. of vertical downward force. Ability to lift/carry vehicle wheels/tires. Ability to perform repetitive bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and crouching; occasional work with arms above shoulder level. Fine motor skills and hand grip for tools and equipment. Occasionally work at heights
