Pali Mountain Mechanic

Summary: Mechanic duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to the following:

Pali Mountain is seeking a full-time experienced Mechanic. Our 250-acre facility is nestled in the San Bernadino Mountains, conveniently located in Running Springs, CA. We operate as a summer camp, outdoor education facility, and retreat center.

Pali has guests and operates 365 days a year, this includes during inclement weather. Pali staff have access to tools for work as well as on-site transportation to get around the site and access to the shop during work hours. Duties are dependent on program needs as well as issues that come up. Pali serves guests of all ages. Projects and maintenance occur while guests are on-site, so safety is paramount.

Must be 18yrs or older to apply. Experience is a must.

• Physically able to lift 50lbs, walk-up three flights of stairs, bend, kneel, stoop, squat, work outdoors in inclement weather, experience with heavy equipment, small engine, gas engine, & diesel.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities & Skills:

Mechanics are responsible for performing repairs at times under limited supervision of some considerable difficulty in the repair and maintenance of equipment and company vehicles and performs any and all related work as assigned, including the following but not limited to,

• Gas vehicles, carbureted and fuel injected
• Strict adherence to record keeping of all repairs and maintenance performed through CMMS record keeping program.
• Using employer supplied vehicles for travel to pick up supplies and materials. (Local)
• Loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment.
• Experience working on heavy diesel equipment, backhoe, skidsteer, boom lift, etc.,
• Experience working on small engines, Dirt bikes, quads, chain saw, weedwhacker etc.,
• Tire change
• Light welding
• Familiar with diagnostic equipment and general trouble shooting
• Mechanical design and fabrication
• Familiar with, and able to work on brands such as John Deere, CAT, STIHL, HONDA, Briggs & Stratton, TORO, Ford, Daihatsu Mini and others
• Methods, materials, tools and techniques used in equipment and vehicle repair and maintenance.
• Preventative maintenance on all vehicles and equipment
• Properly maintain and clean equipment and tools
• Ability to perform maintenance in field conditions. (i.e., no lift)
• During off season, may be required to assist with snow removal. Shoveling, salting, sand bagging, etc.,
• Complies with all Company practices, applicable health and safety rules and regulations, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws.
• Mechanic must work diligently and proficiently, with good work ethic.
• Diagnose and repair in a timely manner
• Must be able to follow direction and execute tasks timely assigned by the Operations Director and Site Manager.
• During off season, may be required to assist with snow removal. Shoveling, salting, sand bagging, etc.,
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to use general office equipment, such as telephone, computer, fax machine, printers, and copiers.• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills

Salary and Benefits:

• $25 - $33hr DOE
