Inventory Team Lead
in partnership with a prominent client in the Binghamton area within the Manufacturing field. The role includes coordinating inventory procedures such as stock checks, material tracking, movement, and reconciliation efforts in compliance with customer requirements.
Summary: Shift: 1st Pay: $20 - $23/ hour
Inventory Team Lead Job Responsibilities: Oversee daily inventory functions such as receiving, storage, issuing, and tracking of aerospace materials and components. Guide and supervise a team of inventory clerks and material handlers, ensuring adherence to material management best practices. Plan and execute regular cycle counts and physical inventory. Identify and resolve inventory variances; apply corrective and preventive measures as needed. Maintain full documentation and traceability for all aerospace inventory, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory guidelines. Collaborate with production, procurement, and quality teams to optimize inventory levels and support just-in-time (JIT) manufacturing goals. Enforce policies on inventory control, shelf-life management, lot tracking, and non-conforming product handling. Track and report inventory performance metrics, such as accuracy, count frequency, turnover rates, and obsolete stock. Utilize ERP/MRP software (Intuitive) to manage inventory transactions and contribute to production planning. Prepare documentation and reports for internal and external audits, including those by customers, financial institutions, and AS9100 compliance bodies. Lead or contribute to process improvement initiatives, utilizing lean manufacturing and 5S methodologies. Read and interpret engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and part numbers.
Inventory Team Lead Qualifications:
High School Diploma/ Equivalent. Associate or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related discipline preferred. At least 3 years of inventory or warehouse management experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (preferably aerospace). Minimum of 1 year in a leadership, supervisory, or team lead role. Solid understanding of aerospace inventory practices and industry compliance requirements. Knowledge of AS9100D, ISO 9001, and other relevant aerospace quality systems. Proficient with ERP/MRP platforms and Microsoft Office.
