General Position Description:
Designs and conducts college transition activities in schools and community agencies to recruit and enroll students transitioning to Valencia College. Creates and implements college awareness and transition program experiences on campus, including group tours and experiences, campus intros, information sessions, and signature recruitment events.

Description Of Job Function:
Develops, maintains and expands a professional relationship network with appropriate school administrators, college and career staff, and counselors in assigned schools and agencies.
Description Of Job Function:
Collaborates with College Transition Coaches/Counselors assigned to each public school as defined by the College Readiness and Transition Advisory Group by county/school district to recruit and facilitate transition of Valencia prospective students and lead all school-based recruitment strategies.
Description Of Job Function:
Visits assigned schools and agencies to recruit and enroll students at Valencia College by meeting with students and school representatives, and participating in special recruitment events.
Description Of Job Function:
Develops and presents information workshops and events on topics related to college access and transition to prospective students and parents.
Description Of Job Function:
Develops and implements district-wide College Transition programs for various grade levels in order to fulfill the colleges enrollment plan.
Description Of Job Function:
Assists in the development and maintenance of appropriate recruitment and transition communication plans.
Description Of Job Function:
Organizes, coordinates, and conducts Group Tours and Experiences, Campus Intro Visits and Information Session Presentations for potential students and families.
Description Of Job Function:
Manages Campus Ambassador Program and ensures alignment with college-wide program initiatives and goals.
Description Of Job Function:
Sets and achieves objectives and accountability standards for target schools and populations, in conjunction with the Assistant Director and Director of Transition Planning.
Description Of Job Function:
Works collaboratively with other college staff to implement integrated recruitment and enrollment plans and reaching target populations.
Description Of Job Function:
Plans, coordinates, or assists with Signature outreach programs and events (e.g. College Night and Counselor Day).

Enters and tracks prospective student data and conducts ongoing evaluations of projects and programs through regular reporting.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Preferred Education & Field Of Study:
Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution in psychology, education, sociology, or related fields.
Preferred Type Of Experience:
Experience in recruitment, training, or advising.
Experience in designing and presenting workshops.
Experience in education and working with students.
Experience in event planning, management, execution and evaluation.
Experience with electronic databases and communication tools.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:
Knowledge of Valencia College programs and college admissions/records requirements and policies.
Skill in communicating effectively interpersonally, orally, and in writing.
Ability to work collaboratively with people.
Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer and web-based portals.
Ability to develop and deliver related presentations and workshops.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and programs.
Ability to frequently and efficiently travel locally between campus and off campus locations, and maintain multiple worksites.
General Working Conditions:
This job primarily operates in a professional office environment and within the community staffed by professional and student staff members. The individual in this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets, die cut machines, laminators, and fax machines. Some position responsibilities require tasks outside of the office, in either a classroom setting, programming venue, or outdoors.
While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to frequently remaining stationary, moving, reaching, positioning self and occasionally ascending/descending, lifting/moving objects weighing between 25 pounds. This job also entails frequently communicating, discerning and exchanging information, detecting and perceiving objects up close, at a distance, and the ability to adjust focus. Cognitive abilities include but are not limited to frequently using discretion, judgment, reasoning, memory, learning, maintaining confidentiality, comprehension, problem solving, and decision-making.
The typical work environment, physical and cognitive demands listed above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
