Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run June - December (including the Fall semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity). Get onboard the Collins Aerospace MPC team. This position is for a spring (January start) and summer (early to mid August end) co-op. You would need to take the spring semester off. This role is onsite, in Rockford, IL. This position may be eligible for relocation. What You Will Do: You will assist and create tooling and fixturing designs by use of SolidWorks, Teamcenter, NX, and AutoCAD. You will use 3D printing technology to create shadow boards, fixture/tools & support operations day to day need. You will be revising, creating, and maintaining manufacturing work instructions. You will support implementation of new manufacturing equipment, tools, and processes and evaluate feasibility. You will participate in Lean events pertaining to production processes. What You Will Learn: Develop key management and team skills with ownership over daily, weekly, and monthly tasks. You will learn how to perform industrial engineering evaluations of production standards. You will directly work with the Quality engineers, Supply Chain Managers, Design Engineering, Industrial Engineers, Value Stream leadership, and Plant Operations. Qualifications You Must Have: Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline. U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62 Qualifications We Prefer: Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Materials, Operations, Aerospace or an applicable discipline. Solid analytical problem-solving skills are extremely valuable. Willingness to learn and react in a fast-paced environment. Proficient with a modeling software (i.e., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX).
