Description

Shipping/Receiving Coordinator in charge of overseeing inbound/outbound packages for transportation. As a coordinator, your job duties include communicating with shippers/brokers/receivers to provide rates, managing large quantities of packages, and assisting with various routing tasks. Ensures the accuracy of all shipping/receiving documents. Gathers and maintains all data and records relative to shipping/receiving activities. Assure that shipping/receiving counts match. Picking/purchase order documents and assists in resolving any discrepancies. Ensures accuracy in the warehouse by doing cycle counts to maintain correct inventory levels. Maintain, monitor, organize small package deliveries.

Requirements

A shipping/receiving coordinator typically has a wide range of responsibilities, which can include and not limited to: Coordinating with other members of the shipping/receiving departments to ensure that all inbound and outbound shipments are properly prepared. Creating reports on shipping/receiving activities such as tracking inbound/outbound shipments, compiling statistics about shipping/receiving volume or rates. Arranging pickup or delivery of shipments using a variety of methods such as trucking companies, railroads, airlines, or other shipping lines. Communicating with clients to ensure that they receive their orders on time. Interacting with customers and brokers when inbound/outbound deliveries misdeliver. Responsible for working with accounting for invoicing shipping/receiving costs and keeping track of them for accounting purposes. Maintaining records of inventory levels and purchasing new inventory when necessary. Maintaining a database of customers/brokers/vendors information such as shipping addresses and contact information. Assisting with the planning and scheduling of inbound/outbound shipments including documentation, pick-up arrangements, customs clearance procedures, etc. Monitor and maintain the designated small package shipping/receiving area. Prepare packages for carrier pickup/receiving (FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.). Send notification emails to appropriate personnel to ensure packages are ready for pickup/receiving. Ensure accurate documentation and timely communication with carriers and internal staff. Keep the area organized, safe, and compliant with shipping guidelines. 2 years of experience in Shipping/Receiving/Logistics or Transportation preferred
