The Strategic Account Technology Specialist synthesizes business insights and orchestrates global teams to deliver innovative solutions while applying deep technical leadership. They will lead technology strategy, drive digital transformation, and enable customer outcomes through Microsoft technologies. Responsibilities
Act as a "virtual Chief Technical Officer" to provide account thought leadership, voice of the customer, industry, and team, and leverage deep knowledge of Microsoft solutions and customer needs. Lead technology strategy formulation, align customer needs with technology solutions, execute digital transformation, and create mid- to long-term technical roadmaps. Identify and develop revenue opportunities, present to customers, and create demand. Coach peers on opportunity initiation and mapping Microsoft priorities to opportunities. Lead digital transformation with cross-functional resources, articulating benefits of Microsoft technology over competitors. Assist customer technical specialists in selling Microsoft offerings. Map customer requirements and business scenarios to Microsoft technology platforms. Orchestrate teams and partners to ensure demand generation and establish best practices for account planning. Deliver regular industry/technology briefings to customer leaders and technical teams. Develop enablement plans using readiness resources. Industry and Thought Leadership
Customer and Industry Insights: identify industry trends, market threats, opportunities, and barriers; inform Industry Sales Kits and partnerships; forecast and advise on account strategy; orchestrate cross-region information gathering; ensure value delivery. Differentiated Value Proposition: partner with senior leaders to articulate how Microsoft technology meets future business needs and enables growth; provide external perspectives on competing solutions. Education and Thought Leadership: lead technology engagements, deliver regular industry briefings, and drive customer skilling initiatives; articulate strategic value of Microsoft platform. Mapping and Account Planning: establish best practices for budgeting, quotas, and consumption; coordinate extended account teams; own technical portions of account plans; drive execution across large/strategic accounts. Technology Sales: Demand Generation and Orchestration: lead envisioning, create Stage 1 opportunities, manage consumption pipeline, coach peers, and set standards for opportunity initiation. Strategic and Technology Roadmapping
Develop mid- and long-term technology and business roadmaps for prominent accounts; translate customer objectives into Industry Technology Architecture; drive consumption and adoption of Microsoft cloud. Lead analysis of customer needs and blockers; partner with global executives to address gaps and drive end-to-end solutions; guide adoption of technologies and long-term business strategy. Trusted Advisor and Security Thought Leadership
Provide broad product and market knowledge; coordinate with internal and external experts; leverage partner ecosystems to bridge gaps; share knowledge and coach resources. Act as voice of the customer and advocate within Microsoft; drive actionable feedback to product and engineering teams; articulate business opportunities from product gaps. Create security thought leadership with executive stakeholders, position security as a business enabler, and orchestrate security initiatives with security specialists. Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 7+ years technical consulting, technical consultative selling, practice building, or related technical/sales/industry experience OR equivalent experience. Other Qualifications
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: required upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to legal restrictions for US federal/state/local government customers. Additional or Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 14+ years technical consulting, technical consultative selling, practice building, or related technical/sales/industry experience OR equivalent experience. 5+ years experience in digital transformation or using technology to drive customer business outcomes. 4+ years experience in business consulting, consultative selling, or change management. 5+ years experience leading technical, support, and/or partner teams. Compensation
Strategic Account Technology IC5 typical base pay range USD 130,900 - 251,900 per year. Location-based variations may apply (San Francisco Bay Area / NYC metro).
