Examples of Duties Under general supervision, provides consultation and assessment, and delivers various nutrition related services, including public health, nutrition education, and food service programs, to individuals, families, and groups. Screens clients and obtains necessary documentation to determine medical and nutritional risk for WIC eligibility according to established Federal regulations and State guidelines. Takes and records pertinent client information including height, weight, and hemoglobin measurements. Obtains clients' diet histories and assesses adequacy using standard guidelines. Prepares and implements nutrition plans. Prescribes food packages to meet clients medical and nutritional needs. Counsels clients, provides educational materials, and makes referrals to other appropriate resources. Assists in the planning and implementation of nutritional education programs and outreach activities. Assist in the development and distribution of educational materials, such as pamphlets, audio-visual aids, displays and reports. Assist in evaluating the need for services, and in the planning and implementation of service delivery. Receives, investigates, and resolves inquiries, requests, and complaints. Assists in the development of new or improved clinic processes and/or procedures. Assists in training and orienting new personnel. Examples of Other Duties Acts as a team leader and supervises staff in the absence of Community Nutritionist. May perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate in Arts degree in health education, nutrition, dietetics, a human ecology/home science, or a related field.
Licenses and Certificates Possession of a valid driver's license equivalent to a non-commercial, class C Maryland driver's license is required at the time of appointment.
