CIVILIAN INVESTIGATOR
VIA JOB DESCRIPTIONS Reviews pre-screen questionnaires and employment applications for completeness. Prepares criminal background investigations and assimilates information from multiple sources into a comprehensive package. Ability to use Human Resource systems to support applicants and provide guidance through the process. Conducts background investigations on applicants including criminal record searches, employment verification, personal reference inquiries, neighbor inquiries, and credit history. Assembles, compiles, interprets and presents data, statistical information and reports. Knowledge/experience with management of employee roster. Collects, compiles, and distributes information from CAF, DAVID, NCIC/FCIC, FINDER, Equifax, TLO, TCATS, and other local databases as required. Conducts applicant file reviews as required. Compiles and maintains Civil Service Board Eligibility list. Must act as a liaison representing the Seminole County Sheriff Office and the Human Resources Division within the agency and to the public. May serve as an active participant in recruitment events. Must be able to present to large or small groups on behalf of the agency. Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to current and new employees of Human Resources. Participate in projects as directed that support the mission, vision, and values of the Seminole County Sheriff Office. Must have knowledge of Sworn/Certified/Civilian positions within the Seminole County Sheriff Office to include qualifications and basic knowledge about each position. Proficiency in vetting and processing pre-screen questionnaires. Experience and demonstrated proficiency in posting job vacancies, including internal and external. Coordinates applicant pre-employment/qualifying testing. Regularly evaluates the testing process to ensure it leads to the most qualified applicants being presented in the hiring process. Coordinates applicant pre-employment appointments (drug tests, physicals, psychological exams etc.). Review, verify, and approve medical and Equifax invoices. Communication with applicants throughout the background screening and hiring process including those applicants who are not selected. Knowledge of pay bands and Seminole County Sheriff Office's ability to financially compensate experience and education. Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations and policies that govern Human Resources. Performs other duties as assigned or as may be necessary in the efficient and effective performance of the position functions. Minimum Qualifications

Seminole County Sheriff's Office Human Resources Division Sanford FL 32773 (407) 665-6711 External applicants for employment will submit to a thorough background investigation, which includes, but not limited to, past employment/education verification, driver license review, credit history, prior drug use history, arrest/conviction record, and computerized voice stress analysis (CVSA) testing. A certified examiner administers the CVSA with questions addressing illegal drug use and general questions of honesty and criminal history. Any dishonesty or deception on the Employment Application will disqualify your application. The background investigation process may take 3-6 months depending upon the complexity of the applicant's background and position for which you've applied. Applicants selected for employment will be provided a conditional offer and required to submit to a medical examination with drug screening.
Candidates must also comply with the Agency's current Tattoo and Body Ornamentation Policy. A copy of
