Middle School Assistant Cross Country Coach (Lincoln Middle)

PURPOSE OF JOB : Provide instruction, leadership, and supervision to middle school students participating in the sports program. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Assist with practices by emphasizing teamwork, skill development, learning rules and strategies, and student-athlete improvement. Assist with academic monitoring alongside teachers, counselors, and other support staff. Supervise student-athletes before, during, and after practices and contests, including in locker rooms, on buses, and at all times. Be present at all practices and games, arriving on time and remaining until all student-athletes have left. Maintain responsibility for equipment and inventory management. Complete all required paperwork, including rosters, physicals, insurance forms, and parent consent forms. Coordinate transportation, facilities, officials, and game management details. Conduct oneself ethically during practices and contests, exemplifying sportsmanship. Assist in coordinating the sports program. Promote student-athletes' academic and athletic accomplishments. Engage in professional growth through clinics and publications. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : Student-athletes MINIMUM QUALIFICATION : Must possess a Teachers Certificate, valid Substitute Certificate, or a Temporary (provisional) Teacher’s Certificate. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : Be a full or part-time employee of the District. Currently employed as a teacher or administrator within the school applying for the position.
