Legal Assistant Position
We are looking for a skilled Legal Assistant to provide support to attorneys specializing in real estate and corporate law in Kansas City, Missouri. This role involves preparing and reviewing legal documents, assisting with transactions, and maintaining organized files to ensure smooth operations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, a team player, and comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced, office-based environment. Responsibilities: Draft and review a variety of legal documents related to real estate, loans, and construction, such as agreements, leases, and contracts. Prepare key documents including deeds, easements, affidavits, closing certificates, and escrow instructions. Assist attorneys with the coordination and organization of real estate transactions and closings. Ensure legal documents are proofread for accuracy and consistency before submission. Collaborate with attorneys to support a wide range of real estate projects and transactions. Manage and prioritize multiple assignments to meet tight deadlines. Organize and maintain both physical and electronic legal files for easy access and retrieval. Record deeds electronically or manually, depending on jurisdiction requirements. Support attorneys with corporate formations, organizational documents, and required filings. Coordinate schedules and prepare documentation for corporate closings. Requirements: Paralegal certification with a minimum of five years of relevant experience. Strong proficiency in legal document management and preparation, including deeds, leases, and contracts. Excellent computer skills, including familiarity with e-filing systems. Proven ability to manage calendars and deadlines effectively. Experience in civil litigation and commercial real estate transactions. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective communication abilities, both written and verbal. Demonstrated capability to multi-task and solve problems independently.
