Long-term Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced

IT Desktop Support Technician

for a backfill support role on an

on-call basis

with a

4-hour response window . The technician will provide field support for IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networking issues, ensuring seamless service delivery in line with customer standards and experience working in a manufacturing or production environment is a must-have, as the role requires familiarity with supporting IT systems in industrial settings and understanding the unique demands of such operational environments. Key Responsibilities: Provide IT Infrastructure field support, troubleshooting hardware, software, and OS issues without violating warranties or compliance requirements Install, troubleshoot, and repair desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals Resolve desktop application issues efficiently Perform

smart hands

activities under instruction at customer sites Support and maintain peripheral and networking hardware, including: Monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, fax machines, scanners Routers, wireless routers, switches, firewalls, racks, cabinets, data panels Conduct repeat call analysis and develop preventive measures Manage incidents and problem resolution effectively Provide excellent written and verbal communication with clients and internal teams Ensure timely completion of tasks with a proactive sense of ownership Use ticketing systems such as

ServiceNow, Remedy , etc. Technical Requirements: Minimum

3 years

of IT Infrastructure field support experience Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and OS issues Expertise in desk-side support and PC break/fix, including basic

Windows OS

administration ( MAC/Linux OS

preferred) Basic understanding of enterprise

LAN/WAN

setups and concepts Knowledge of

TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VPN, RDP Ability to troubleshoot network cabling issues with sound deductive reasoning Ability to lift/move computer equipment up to

50 lbs Preferred Qualifications: Associate Degree in Electronics CompTIA A+ Certification Non-Technical Requirements: Excellent oral and written communication abilities Ability to interact effectively with customers at all levels Driven, results-oriented, and passionate about delivering quality work Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, or collaboratively as part of a team Flexibility to work varied schedules as needed Seniority level
