Job Description:
This person provides supervisory and managerial support in Champlin Hall to union, student and casual staff. This will also include other units on campus that CAS operates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Demonstrate working knowledge of quantity food production and service methods, sanitation procedures, food-handling procedures and serving methods are required. Ability to work with high volume and to adjust schedule, accommodates constant deadlines and changing priorities. High degrees of enthusiasm, initiative, judgement problem-solving and resourcefulness. Trained on procedures for Student Payroll. Interview, hire and schedule student employees, as well as training to ensure the highest quality of customer service. Participates and forecasts desserts and is responsible for ordering/purchasing of those products from distributor weekly/order. Coordinates weekly bakery production needs, i.e., pastries, cookies, brownies, cakes, pies and breads. Perform physical count of monthly inventories. Maintain a fresh and welcoming ambiance of dining unit though props and seasonal decorations. Proper recording of authorized extension, OT, etc., essential to staff payroll and Paychex system. Nightly verification of safe's bank. Assists in annual union staff evaluations. Supervise and manage all staff with organization and planning to deliver optimal service.
This includes, but is not limited to, proper signage, garnish and presentation, cleanliness, temperatures and a welcoming atmosphere.
Enforce policies and procedures set forth by CAS, governmental agencies and the college that regulate the services we provide included, but not limited to, OSHA, DOH and the Collective Bargaining Unit agreement and any other applicable entities. Interact with customers and staff to determine, menu, service, and safety options. Communicate all repairs and requests for maintenance, to ensure a safe and productive workplace. Participates in monthly inventories. Attend training/regional NACUFS meetings, as assigned. Perform other duties as required Requirements:
Education and/or Experience
Supervision / Foodservice Experience, 2-5 years, and/or degree preferred. ServSafe Certification and Allertrain Certificate are required Must have a valid NYS Driver's License Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge/Skills
Technology adept, especially with Excel Excellent communication skills Ability to learn and navigate EATEC Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills Able to manage multiple projects and priorities Able to manage time effectively working from remote locations and/or a home office Must possess managerial skills Customer-service oriented approach to all services, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills. Full Time, non-exempt position
$21 - $25 an hour
37.5 hours per week
Schedule:
Tuesday 6am-12:30pm Wednesday 12 noon-8pm Thursday 1:30pm-8pm Friday 11:30am-8pm Saturday 8:30am-7pm Sunday & Monday OFF
