Senior Property Accountant - DT Dallas (95k-105k + bonus)

LHH is seeking a Senior Property Accountant on behalf of a growing and well-established company in the commercial real estate industry. The ideal candidate will have a background in public accounting (with audit experience) or hands-on accounting experience within the commercial real estate sector. They should possess strong technical accounting skills, experience with GAAP, and a high level of accuracy and analytical ability. Prior exposure to fixed assets, straight-line rent, financial reporting, and property-level accounting is highly desirable. Job Responsibilities: Perform full-cycle accounting duties including general ledger maintenance, financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, and accruals Conduct detailed monthly variance analysis and assist in quarterly re-forecast reviews Manage GAAP rent calculations and monthly analytics related to rental income Prepare detailed reporting packages for joint venture partners Handle funding requests and loan draws for assigned properties Support year-end audits by preparing audit schedules, responding to ad hoc auditor requests, and drafting financial statements Assist with annual tax package support documents Process manual billings, billing adjustments, and maintain supplemental ledgers Record and reconcile daily cash activity Oversee Expense Participation (EP) processes, including billing setup, annual true-ups, budgeting, and reforecasting by customer Perform lease reviews and peer reviews for EP setups Collaborate with property management teams to resolve accounting-related inquiries Manage capital project tracking, including job setup and processing of pay applications within the accounting system Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CPA eligibility highly preferred) At least 3–5 years of relevant experience in commercial real estate accounting or public accounting audit Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP and core accounting principles Experience with straight-line rent, fixed assets, and financial reporting Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level or higher) Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities Seniority level
