Job Description - NHG Manager in Training Program, NGIS (250000KJ) Job Summary: Under the supervision of the NEXCOM Hospitality Group (NHG) Training Manager and assigned General Manager, complete the Management in Training (MIT) curriculum and on-the-job training requirements. The goal is to achieve sufficient technical and operational proficiency to become a successful General Manager. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Complete training and operational duties at assigned NHG lodging operations, including Navy Gateway Inns & Suites and Navy Lodges. Additional training may be assigned at other locations requiring travel. Learn all aspects of hospitality operations through job shadowing and hands-on training across departments and positions. Utilize systems, tools, and software relevant to the role. Prepare and submit periodic MIT progress reports to the Training Manager. Serve as the Manager on Duty as assigned. Conduct inspections of guest rooms, common areas, work areas, and storage areas to ensure NHG standards are met. Identify deficiencies and implement corrective measures, following up as necessary. Implement NHG policies and procedures. Ensure adequate staffing, evaluate subordinate performance, and report concerns to the General Manager. Coordinate with department supervisors to plan, conduct, and record training sessions. Assist staff in resolving job-related issues and personnel concerns. Communicate effectively with staff to motivate and engage. Review operating reports and statistical data to complete management reports. Assist in gathering and evaluating data for the annual operating budget. Represent the General Manager in meetings when necessary. Maintain liaison with NEXCOM, vendors, and suppliers to ensure service and supply levels meet needs. Monitor guest satisfaction and address complaints promptly. Ensure compliance with safety, fire, and sanitation regulations. Perform other duties as assigned, including potential relocation after program completion. Minimum Qualifications: A two- or four-year degree in Hospitality, Hotel/Motel Management, or Business Administration, OR At least one year of supervisory or management experience in a hotel, motel, or similar facility (residential, resort, Airbnb, timeshare, vacation rental, serviced apartments, etc.), OR An equivalent combination of education and experience providing professional hotel/motel management knowledge. Federal government retail management experience may be considered in lieu of hospitality experience. Additional Notes: Relocation may be required upon completion of the MIT program based on company needs.
