Information Security Engineer 2
Kwik Trip is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Information Security Engineer 2 to join our growing Information Security team. This role is deeply technical and focused on the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of security tools and platforms. Internally referred to as a Tooling Engineer, this individual plays a critical role in operationalizing security technologies, tuning them for performance and accuracy, and supporting broader InfoSec initiatives. What You'll Do Deploy, configure, and maintain security tools such as EDR, SIEM, vulnerability management, and cloud security platforms. Tune and optimize tools to reduce noise, improve detection fidelity, and enhance automation. Administer security platforms, including patching, upgrades, integrations, and health monitoring. Collaborate with other InfoSec teams (GRC, IR, AppSec) to support investigations, compliance efforts, and risk mitigation. Troubleshoot complex technical issues across infrastructure, endpoints, and cloud environments. Assist in tool evaluations, proof-of-concepts, and onboarding of new technologies. Document configurations, tuning decisions, and operational procedures. Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies. What You Bring 35 years of hands-on experience in information security engineering, preferably with a focus on security tooling. Strong experience with information security tools. Solid understanding of networking, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). Experience with scripting or automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) is a plus. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Strong troubleshooting skills and a passion for solving complex technical problems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday (hybrid), daytime hours with a rotation cycle for on call.
