Actual pay will be based on various factors, such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, proficiency for the role, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, Kwik Trip gives 40% of pre-tax profits back to our coworkers with bonuses ranging from 8-12% of each coworker's gross annual wage depending on company profitability and offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401k, paid time off, and more.
Kwik Trip is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Information Security Engineer 2 to join our growing Information Security team. This role is deeply technical and focused on the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of security tools and platforms. Internally referred to as a Tooling Engineer, this individual plays a critical role in operationalizing security technologies, tuning them for performance and accuracy, and supporting broader InfoSec initiatives.
What You'll Do
• Deploy, configure, and maintain security tools such as EDR, SIEM, vulnerability management, and cloud security platforms.
• Tune and optimize tools to reduce noise, improve detection fidelity, and enhance automation.
• Administer security platforms, including patching, upgrades, integrations, and health monitoring.
• Collaborate with other InfoSec teams (GRC, IR, AppSec) to support investigations, compliance efforts, and risk mitigation.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues across infrastructure, endpoints, and cloud environments.
• Assist in tool evaluations, proof-of-concepts, and onboarding of new technologies.
• Document configurations, tuning decisions, and operational procedures.
• Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies.
What You Bring
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in information security engineering, preferably with a focus on security tooling.
• Strong experience with information security tools.
• Solid understanding of networking, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with scripting or automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and a passion for solving complex technical problems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday (hybrid), daytime hours with a rotation cycle for on call. Work on weekends, holidays, and non-business hours may be required.
